Who are we?

Light the Way Christian Counseling Center is a professional counseling service built upon Christian principles. It is open to Christians of all denominations and all levels of faith. It is also open to those who do not currently consider themselves Christians, but who are possibly curious about the love and grace they have heard about through God and His Son.

We are a ministry of the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, in Bellefontaine, Ohio.

Our Vision

To shine the light of God's love into the darkness of a hurting world.

Our Mission

To offer Christian-based professional counseling that empowers growth within the individual; in his or her relationship with family, friends and community; and in his or her relationship with God.

Services Offered

  • Individual counseling with adolescents and adults struggling with depression, anxiety, co-dependency, self-esteem, life circumstances, grief and/or issues of faith.

  • Play therapy for young children

  • Help for parents struggling with the challenges of raising children in today's society, including children with disabilities (individually or through a parenting group)

  • Marital counseling

  • Family relationship issues

  • Grief recovery groups in schools

  • Presentations to churches or other groups

Guiding Principles of the Center

  • All counseling will be provided by a licensed and qualified professional counselor.

  • All information shared in a counseling session will be held in the strictest of confidence, except when the law requires us to do otherwise.

  • We will use Biblically sound information and prayer to support the client through the recovery process.

  • We believe that God will do far more than we could ever do to provide healing to our clients, so we will encourage a strengthened relationship with God.

  • Children will not be seen without at least one parent/guardian being an active participant. We believe that the family is the child's God-given support system.

  • We will do our best to make counseling do our best to make counseling affordable for each individual/family.
